Day 4 14th April 2026 Marrakesh

Sorry about yesterday’s photos being in no particular order, makes a bit of a puzzle for you

Our technical glitch continues and may for the duration of the trip but we’re working on it…( actually stuart is working on it☺️)

Today we have tickets to visit Jardin Marjorelle.

This is a garden famous for being the home of Yves Saint Laurent but it originally belonged to a chap Jaques Marjorelle. A frenchman captivated by the colours and vibrancy of Marrakesh. In 1917 he created a sanctuary on the outskirts of the city. He died in 1962 and sadly the garden fell into disrepair.

This vibrancy is what then captivated Yves Saint Laurent to make this his home until his death in Paris in 2008.

It was a wonderful morning, the garden is beautiful and without trying to sound cheesy an oasis in the middle of this crazy city.

After a wander through we then head to the YSL museum, absolutely fascinating learning about the history of this very interesting man.

Had a coffee in the garden before heading back to Philippa’s Riad.

She is moving to the other side of town, across from the Palais de Congress where the conference is being held.

We took a Tuk Tuk to her hotel, which was quite a hair raising experience but we got there in one piece.

Remember, the conference is why we are here…..

Stuart and I the taxied back to the Djemaa El Fna to have a wander.

Few more snake charmers and Henna artists but again we are probably to early for the all the street theatre to begin.

Little  stroll back through the soukes just in case, before heading home for a while.

Back out for some dinner and then an early night as we have a very big adventure tomorrow which i am very excited about…. Till then

  1. I loved the YSL gardens. So peaceful in the middle of madness.
